It is a restaurant with an outdoor courtyard on the site of the original pizzeria, which was partially demolished. The task was to create a new type of restaurant, based on historical precedent – Italian osteria, a restaurant by the road, which serves mainly wine and simple food. We managed to create an alphabet of material elements (recycled wood and iron, black lacquered steel, glass, exposed stone and bricks), from which it was possible to read inspiration – classic Italian osteria blended with the client’s inspirational wishes – rustic alpine chalet and industrial chic (a modern rustic style), including a bar and a wine shop. The restaurant is divided into three zones: an outdoor terrace, an indoor rustic dining room and an indoor industrial bar area with a dining room, softened by a plant wall, which also improves the overall acoustics of the space. The bar is complemented by original canvases – paintings that I painted to fit this restaurant. The design is complemented by huge black-and-white photographs from Italy by the world-famous photographer Antonin Kratochvil hanging on the walls.
