Documentary films
At the Czech Center New York, I met American WWII veterans who participated in the liberation of Pilsen by the 3rd US Army.
With another veteran, Charles Schaeffer, I arranged to stage every minute of his journey through Pilsen all the way to the Wehrmacht (German occupying army) HQ building.
Mr. Charles Schaeffer witnessed the German surrender and subsequent suicide of German General Georg von Majewski, commander of German troops in Pilsen. I made a documentary describing these events in 1945 for the 60th anniversary of the liberation of Pilsen. I continue to make documentaries.
I want my films to be a kind of catharsis of mutual Czech-German relations.
